Does Your Signigicant Other Not Seem To Care About Your Seizures?

I'm just curious as to whether anyone else's husband/wife/boyfriend/girlfriend doesn't seem to care about your seizures. My husband will leave me in our bedroom alone while I have a seizure. I'm also fairly certain he rolls over and goes back to sleep if I have one during the night. I think one day I'll die during a seizure because he was too busy watching TV, playing some stupid game or sleeping to take care of me. I know sometimes when I'm trying to wake up after a seizure he'll just kind… read more

Yes I've had this happen in the past its very scary, because you put all your trust into the one you love that you think they will be there to protect you and care for you when something like this happens. My partner at the time just let me seize and it was well over time for him to be needing to call an ambulance.. It does mental damage to you and I could no longer trust him anymore to be there for me during times when I was in major need. Needless to say I ended the relationship.

Mine slept thru my grand mal seizures, both of them. The last one he woke with his alarm (guessing) and sat their staring at me saying about time you woke up. I couldn't respond. When I did he had gotten an ear full. I realized that was going on. I'm now in a separate room and he has a reason not to know now but haven't had a grand mal since. I have them in my sleep now

I had an insensitive hubby - HAD !!
I think sometime some ppl don't know how to react. Compassion isn't an easy concept for sum ppl. I think my hubby felt inadequate & embarrassed.
My new partner of 19yrs is totally different. I know I haven't had seizures for 10ys & suddenly have them now - my wife is my rock before during & after a seizure. She makes me feel unbelievably safe.
We talk lots and she knows wot I need. She knows wen to call ambulance. She knows how to be put me in recovery etc maybe ur hubby doesn't know wot to do or wot u want him to do have u chatted to him about this. All the best xxx
