I fit just about all of the requirements for PNES, especially normal EEG and MRI. But my doctor says that I have tonic-clonic epilepsy, so I am going with him.

Yes, it's possible for someone with epilepsy to experience psychogenic non-epileptic seizures (PNES) in addition to their epileptic seizures. PNES resemble epileptic seizures but have psychological rather than neurological causes. About 10% of people diagnosed with epilepsy may actually have PNES instead. But PNES can also occur alongside true epilepsy. Signs of PNES include lack of response to epilepsy medications, a history of trauma, and onset during adolescence or adulthood. Both PNES and epilepsy can be extremely stressful. Having the right information to understand the differences can help in managing the disorders. Cognitive behavioral therapy may help treat PNES.
