I Was Not Able To Learn How To Add Or Subtract In School. I Have A Learning Disability. I Eventually Went To College And Graduated.
They called it Petit Mal when diagnosed at 7. In 6th grade before getting a Tutor I could not pay attention over 15 minutes. If I had to do any math in school, I could not do normal classes. Eventually in my 20s I was tested, and was found eligible to have a Temporal Lobectomy. I did it because there had never been control on meds. They called them Partial Complex. I was told by not having seizures on the right, other damage to the left dominant side did not take place. I am now controlled, but… read more

A ? Do You Think That With Our Conditions We Have Are You Ok With That And Do Feel It's A So Called Norm And Are Ok With?
I at first didn't know what I had,but over the years and medical treatment and tests, meds docs etc, I think in my opinion that they are more 2 nd nature if anything to me, I know that they still happen time to time but not like before and are more stable than before and I am ok with that in my life with, I think I'm improving with my condition and with my doc, she was was a good doc and person that I thought actually cared about the people she treated, my seizures are more stable and still… read more

Has Anyone Had Brain Surgery To Correct Their Seizures? Im Scared And Would Love To Hear Your Stories And Get Any Advice I Can
I've got complex partial seizures with identified abnormality in my temporal lobe. Seizures are focal so my neurologist said surgery is an option I should consider, but I'm pretty scared and not sure it is worth it. My seizures aren't very bad and I could still lead a mostly-normal life but I plan to become a doctor and with sleep deprivation being a major trigger for me it may prevent me from pursuing my desire to work in a hospital (which means long hours). Im not sure about the process of… read more
I was diagnosed with exactly what you have. I had an 8 hour surgery to fix a TBI. A clump of veins could bleed out they said. So they went in and glued it together and 5 days later they went in and… read more
Has Anyone Had Or Has Their Child Had A Frontal Lobe Resection Surgery? If So, How Did It Work Out?
I too did the Left Temporal Lobe surgery. No experience with Frontal Lobe surgery. It helped reduce my seizure frequency from severe to mild and moderate seizures.
Temporal Lobectomy
Is it possible to have a 2nd temporal lobectomy?
I was told that since seizures occur in the left temporal lobe, surgery is not an option, as it could make my memory problem worse.
