For Those Who Drive….

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭
Denver, CO

How long has it been since you had a seizure? Have your Doctors said it was okay to drive?

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member

@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member Giving up driving can sometimes feel like giving up air. I know that is an extreme comparison, but loss of freedom is crippling.

Recommendations For Noise Cancelling Headphones?

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭
Minneapolis, MN

Any suggestions? Would be nice if under $50. The ones I search for on Amazon are so big! I'm looking for something a bit more discrete like my ear plugs but might work better than when I am out and about.

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member

Have you tried noise canceling ear plugs? I get them from Amazon. They are yellow and pink and work great. And of course there’s headphones that are too expensive for me.

How Do I Explain My Sensitivity To Sound To My Coworkers?

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭
Minneapolis, MN

I live two blocks from a fire station and have no reactions when they go on calls with their alarms. I live a block from the train tracks and have no reaction when they go by or sound the horns (if that is the correct expression?). But I can't handle music. I have to wear ear plugs to enter JCP or Dollar Tree and that is still to loud that it is painful and I react like I am having a migraine with such intense headaches and then blurriness kicks in.

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member

go and see a neurologist, maybe there are some meds that can help or maybe the music just sucks. I feel the same way when my cousin blasts Metallica in the car.

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

How was your experience after the EMU?

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member

@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member, you may want to ask your doctor about removing yourself from Depakote. The reason why is because the drug will create liver damage in six months. I took it for a year, and it… read more

Last week I was walking back to my chair and collapsed and went into two seizures back to back. I ended up with a concussion.

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member

Yes I have . There have been many times in public , where I would find myself on the floor from having a seizure.

Sorry For The Delay But When I Went To App My Doc Said He Saw Spikes On My EEG. My Others Before Were All Normal.

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭
Montreal, QC

This threw me off guard. What does this mean? He showed me MRI results from june and said all that white should not be there as he zoomed in and out. I know this is scar tissue from first surgery to remove an AVM. The unsuccessful type of surgery i had to remove the scar tissue 20yrs ago is now no longer done. He said we have new technologies. This is second time he mentioned this. We already booked an app in a few months and doc said if I have ANY seizures before then to call him. I was… read more
