Its one thing to have a seizure while driving and crash your car and hurt yourself, But realize that you might hurt or kill some other people. That's why they don't want you driving. Not just to make your life inconvenient

Thank you, PatriciaWalker. You have presented the essential point. Each of us is an individual with personal differences not just a product off a line. How can politicians and bureaucrats make it illegal for those of us with epilepsy, to drive across state lines professionally? How do we overcome our national government's current desire to step back a century? May God be with you in seeing and remembering how to overcome this belief in racism, bigotry, and worship of wealth for a few by our national government.

This was a great topic with many varying opinions. No two seizure patients are alike anymore than the rest of the population. So it seems to go without saying that the law against persons with epilepsy is prejudice. I don’t cell phone and text or drink and drIve, but sure see it going all around me when I’m in my car.

To my mind, the drug of choice is irelevent, if you are impaired then you are unsafe. whether the DUI law covers other influences I don't know. Patricia, if you didn't take your meds you could have a seizure, the consequences are likely too be greater.

As an aside, As I said before I surrendered my licence 3 months after getting it in 1996. the scary thing is that I could go a year (yea, right lol) then apply for my licence with no test for being competent to drive. I wouldn't trust myself to drive. I think that after a set period of not driving you should have to take your test or have refresher sessions.
