Friend im 55 and lived through most of it until a wreck while driving and the DR ran test EEG, EKG , CT stayed over night for observbance looking for answers. 3 months later while asleep i had a Grand mals Seizure, EMS was called out and was taken to Hospital then my first Neuroligist ran a eeg again. I was put on Dilantin to control Seizures this was 1994. The EEG is where they glue wires to your scalp in many different areas and your brain funtions will be montored by these wires some times up to two full days and nights so the DR can get a understanding whats going on with your Brain while sleeping and daily funtions. Sometimes DR use sleep studies with EEG to get a idea in changes of your brain activity while sleeping. EEG Test will show lots of different paterns such as pain, it will show your breathing patterns, even how much sleep you get.

best to ask the person who is doing the testing or neurologist. I think it’s to test your reaction to certain simulation and brain activity during sleep. Good luck
