How Best To Do Hair For EEG.

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question πŸ’

Hey everyone,
I'm going in for my second week long eeg next month to try and figure out what's happening in my brain lol. Last time I went in by the end of the week my hair was one big knot. It is pretty long and I love having my long hair so I was wondering if anyone else has had this issue and what would be the best way to have my hair (braid, ponytail etc). Or if there is really no way to put it up to stop it becoming that knotty should I just go get it cut shorter (last resort).

I've always had long hair and have had eeg's all my life. I use baby oil and a comb first than a good shampooing and cream rinse and comb it through..

Dont cut your hair! No way.
Ive had this done very recently and it sucks so much. We love our hair but it gets too much and frustrating when we cant get knots out and that glue 😫 use baby oil and a comb. Be gentle and patient x

It should come out when you wash it. Dont try to brush it until after you wash it. I dont think you should cut ypur hair, the glue is only on the top... i just wash it twice with shampoo. And then twice with conditioner. Like, wash it out put another layer of soap scrub your scap, wash that out and then do the same with the conditioner
