Legal Cannabis And Epilepsy
I'd really like to see a specialist for an updated MRI and/or EEG. I've had very negative experiences with medications in the 16 years I've had E, and now use a therapeutic amount of cannabis every day. I'd like to hear from others how they manage to still see a doctor; because I've faced retaliation in the past for my cannabis use, even in medically-legal Michigan. I've been denied emergency meds like Diazepam because of it.
My neurologist is willing to give me a prescription for cannabis. However, she has also told me that it hasn't helped NOT ONE patient she has prescribed it for for seizures!!! I haven't needed it since my last surgery June 15th since I have been seizure free since!!!
Personally, I prefer THC along with CBD. I use the whole plant either smoked or made into oil. CBD has never been enough to relieve my anxiety and depression, but THC does. I've been a medical card holder on and off since 2010, but I haven't seen a neuro in over a year...MI just passed recreational cannabis law so I'm hoping that will make it less stigmatized when I see a doctor.
No problems i go 2mths at a time which is good but annoying when it happens.
So no problems
There is a provider directory here on M.E.T. Under "resources."
@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member we're voting to legalize recreational in MI today, so I'm hoping it becomes as normalized as possible. I feel getting rid of the stigma will help us as patients
