Has Anyone Experienced Slow And/or Slurred Speech Days After A Seizure?
I had what we suspect was a Grand Mal seizure almost a week ago. Since then my speech has bordered between slow and slurred. There are times when it's not so bad, but if I'm tired or emotional it's awful. I can't find the words I want to use and it's hard to get the sentences out of my mouth. I'm also in the process of adding and changing medicines. I'm being weaned off of keppra and onto briviact and they added Lexapro for depression and anxiety.
That's happened to me every time I've had a seizure from a petit to a gran mal. The slurred speech it can go for a few hours to days. I've just begin to forget or can not find it remember words that I need to finish or say in a sentence, this may be because of my shor short and long term memory loss. I was on keppra and put on briviact and it has been working for me so much better seizure wise.
Yes to both. Not alone in that. Also forget words easier.
Yes! Lasts about a week for me and is super frustrating work work when I’m trying to talk to people. I’ve gotten to the point where I’ll tell my bosses what happened and explain my speech is gonna be kinda weird for the next few days- people are just going to have to live with it.
Yes !!
