The disclaimer in this article says it all. Because researchers do not have the right to make diagnoses on people they have not seen. But do I want to know if I have dementia? Not now. My memory is excellent. Just like a woman's And the average woman has a looooooooong memory. Right ladies? So I'll skip the testing for now.πŸ˜€

I think that they take it differently depending upon what kind of personality they have, I watch them in the nursing home where I was cleaning in the alzheimers unit and they were so different from each other. So were so sweet, while others would cry all day. Some people who had to go out to appointments were not good at it, while others hated to be left behind by by family

Well big diff between dementia and Mr Allsheimer. Dementia is not quite so bad they both lead to the same final ending but with Al you can get violent. My mom had dementia and she eventually did not know who I was except I was a decent Joe who visited her. She was happy with her lot so her life was ok. People I knew asked me why I visited her so much if she did not know who I was and I would respond "Because I know who she is." My aunt had a co-worker whose wife got Al and she would chase him with an axe so he had to put her in an institution and that was hard for him.

I am so sorry. A year before being placed. It is good that there is a place for these people. But when placed one has a limited say in matters those who can't speak for themselves can be easily set up to be abused or neglected. But then where I live French is the national language. And English could wind up getting inferior care to French in such places.if certain staff members are anti English.
