Bruises
The last seizures I have had I have bruised badly and they have not healed. Does anyone else bruise badly and take a long time for them to heal?
I have been dealing with bruising since I was 7 yrs old. And since I will be turning 56 yrs old in a little more then two months. I can actually say from experience that medicines can cause bruises. So my advice is check side effects of the medicines then check with your doctor.
I’ve noticed that bruises take a long time to go away. They seem to appear from nowhere as well.
Did you know that anemia can be caused by our anti seizure meds. That is why we need to get our blood work done on a regular basis. One side effect to all anti seizure meds is anemia. So we must keep after our Neurologist and Primary Care Doctors to regularly check our blood to keep us from becoming anemic. And if you are already anemic then that is another reason why you should keep after your doctors about your blood work.Anti seizure meds are nothing to play around with. Also keep after the doctors to keep checking your kidney function as well.I have this done on a regular basis.
Thanks ToddGarwood, guess I wasn't reading closely enough. But I know my anemia is part of the problem along with the medications as well. See what one family member may not know another does, that's what our epileptic family is for to help and support one another.
Yes I bruise easy. And the reason why it takes a long time to heal is because of our medicines. That is a side effect of all anti-seizure meds.It is in the information leaflet you get every time you fill your meds. And you can look up the side effects and it is a side effect of every anti seizure med on the market.Bruising easy and taking a long time to heal.
