Anyone That’s On Vimpat Did You Start Having Strange Dreams?
Vimpat made me have terrible anxiety. I had to take myself off of it. I don't remember any strange dreams.
@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member The grinding of my teeth noted by an earlier dentist of mine is what made him create the molds that were turned into my mouth guards. Years ago, my upper mouth guard broke in half and then I lost it a short time later after having a morning seizure. However, the one mouth guard still prevents me from grinding me teeth, and I have not had an incident of biting my tongue or lips since the messy period of 2003.
My doctor says that my body adapt to my medicines faster than normal so all of my medicines have to be adjusted to a higher or lower dose my limp app has gone from 200 and he is trying to decide if he should raise the dosage or raise the dosage on a different medicine every 6 months when I go see. But vimpat is a very effective medicine on most people so some people should suggest it to their doctor's to see if the doctor thinks that is a good idea but always listen to what the doctor says is what my mother tells me.
My neurologist uses Collazo Pam as a rescue Med for when I have 5 minutes each years or longer and also he said Keppra is it good medicine but I am allergic to it and it makes me very very itchy one time I tried to scratch my whole body so I started taking off my clothes in front of my mother it was funny to me after the effects wear off but my mother was very shocked😁
@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member , I started Vimpat in November 2019 & I don’t think I’ve experienced strange dreams on a regular basis. Sure everyone might experience a dream now & then but I rarely experience them. I still am taking my Depakote & those are the only 2. Though my seizures aren’t as frequent as some peoples I still have them & am guessing I had one Saturday night while sleeping & Monday night while sleeping both more less known as Nocturnal seizures. Sunday & Tuesday I woke up to find I had bitten my lip & tongue but Tuesday it looked worse & was a little more sore is one reason I assume I had a seizure Monday night while sleeping. Problem I also have is that I grind my teeth when I sleep & the 2 mouth guards my dentist made have broken & the over the counter ones are to loose & so I will try to get another one soon without it costing hundreds of dollars. I hope your dreams stop & if you want why not let your doctor know about them if you wish. Sending Thoughts, Hugs, Smiles & Prayers. Your friend in Texas, Becky
