Present day, they do Have a generic brand for Vimpat. When I was on it, Vimpat was brand spanking new. There was no generic at the time.

When the EEG Technician only reduced My Afternoon 200 mg Vimpat by 100 mg. I was still on the rest of My Meds. It only took a decrease in 100 mg for Me to have several seizures that evening

My insurance company forced me to switch from Vimpat to Lacosa-die around May. It was the worst drug experience of my life.Maybe your drug company does the drug better than mine (Alembic Pharma) , but the consequences could just be a matter of time.

It's also telling that Lacosamide allows up to 600 max MG into your system. That just tells me that the drug is about 50% less effective than Vimpat, and 200mg more toxic. Somehow this is acceptable.

I say this just to help everyone. I gain absolutely nothing from telling this story.
