Pregnancy Curiousity

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

Hello again, I’m 21 years old but I often think about what the future would look like if I decide to have a child. So many thoughts run through my head: Will they take me off my lexapro and Keppra? What happens if I have a seizure while pregnant? Are there any risks that I should know about? I know this may be soon to think about but I have always been curious. Someday I want to adopt and have children of my own.

Thank you so much for your input and I’m very sorry for your loss. I would recommend, if you would like, to adopt a child if you would like. The adoption process is long, but worth it in my opinion. My aunt has adopted around 5 kids and she is known as the women who pulls up in a big van with a bunch of kids. Lol. It’s very inspiring though.

I was pregnant 2 times n miscarriage both it makes me sad but then I also have/had a step son but not married to his dad no longer and I have nieces and nephews. I have been taking care of all kids as babysitting as well it helps me throughout. But your body is made to shelter the kid so the kids should be safe and yes seizures and epilepsy can be inherited but always know that we all can handle it in our ways wether as child or adult.
