Tremor
So, this is just weird. Has anyone been shaky just in one hand? My right hand is shaking out of control, while my left hand is steady like a brick.
I've never had really bad, all arm tremors, but I do have shaky hands. I'm left handed, so I notice that one more. It's most noticeable in the a.m. when I go to pick up a glass of water or coffee cup. I think it's the meds. I didn't have it when I was on Lamictal alone, but started happening after I started the Clobazam.
Yes. Its not consistant, but it happens every couple of months.
@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member, just heard back from my doctor. He's not sure what this means. He said that the next time it happens, to video tape it.
Yes sir I stay like that right hand is worse than left
Now my Neurologist says mine is not a neuropathy, but what is called an Essential Tremor. It’s not unique to epileptics, but we commonly get one. It often involves one limb or a combination of regions on one side of the body. For me it started in my left hand, but spread to my left arm and torso, and now my head shakes when I try to hold it steady. It’s better in the morning, and caffeine definitely does not help it. My Dr said it’s what the actress Katherine Hepburn had later in life (such as in “On Golden Pond”). I asked him what kind of treatment can we apply, but he said they don’t really have a cure. Just keeping agitation to a minimum, limiting caffeine, and he has me take gabapentin daily to try to calm all my nerves.
