I use and app called Epsy and it allows me to set up medication reminders, log seizures, auras, side effects, any events I have, and you can put in notes on any event. I can share my information with my doctor and print it off. Best of all it FREE!! This is the best app yet for those with epilepsy. Has anyone else tried it?

A few days ago I had a “bad” day. I was exhausted so I could not forget about that. When the day is over I write down in a journal what happened that day, that is something one of my Dr.s wants me to do. There is not much I can do to control and can’t stop them. So I take my medication, and basically crash on my bed listening to music 🎶 or read. I don’t think about my epilepsy after that. To be constructive at those times I fold paper into different things-origami.

My medications have my seizures mostly under control; however, on the days I happen to forget to take them or perhaps don't get enough sleep and end up having a seizure I have learned through the years to let go of any anger or frustration I usually felt after a seizure. It's unfortunate to say this, but seizures are part of our lives, nevertheless, they don't have to have control over our lives. For that reason, I acknowledge I had a seizure, try to understand why it happened, and then do what I can to enjoy the rest of my day. I normally feel exhausted and drained after a seizure, but that does not stop me from trying to enjoy my day. Obviously, there are other times when it's harder to keep an optimistic view of life, but that's why having 'anchors' that can keep you from drifting away is very important. My anchors are my Faith in God, my family, and my friends.

I try to avoid the triggers, by reading some humour books, listening to my favourite music, but most importantly - get some good quality sleep.
