What Are Some Safe Physical Exercises For People With Epilepsy?

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭
Miami, FL

I would like to exercise but I realize there are many exercises I cannot do anymore because I am blind and paraplegic. I currently do not have anyone I could exercise with. I am currently not on any seizure medication because my diagnosis was by PCP such a short time ago. I need the medications ASAP. One of my biggest issues is that my seizures are triggered by physical exertion and fatigue. So what are my safest options right now? How do you manage the risks of seizures during exercises?

You can do simple exercises without going over board like stretching back bends toe touches and if you go to the gym walking on the treadmill and barbell curls but the main thing you need to remember is breath and rest after each set of workouts you do and drink cold water it helps keep your body cool down so you won’t get overwhelmed and heated
