Yes it used to be called a petitemal I have had several in the past. I told my wife to start recording them cause I didn't believe 1/2 of what she was telling me until the 1st time I seen it on video. And yes I have went thru both my dresser and the wifes tearing all the clothes out and she asked what I was looking for and I angrily told her I don't know but I'll know when I find it. I have no memory and most of them followed with a gramal

I too have had a few seizures that have been like that. Yet I still have a variety of different seizures, since 1998. I'm told that it may have something to do with my PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) , but I've also had the most dangerous incident happen to me during a seizure... I had went on a blind date, which was not a good idea. Was the most stupidest & dangerous thing I've ever done, gone somewhere alone with him. So please all women with epilepsy, never do this: go anywhere alone with anyone that you don't know well. Please be careful.

I remember feeling scared as if I was being watched when I was a child. I used to think I was just crazy. As an adult, I learned that this type of paranoia was a side effect of the drug I was taking at that time (celontin)! Have you looked into the side effects of your meds?

I never have auras or memories of having had a seizure so I can't feel connected in that way.
However, I believe ALL OF US HERE have our mutual and unique VULNERABILITY. Epilepsy is a disease that puts the patient in an inescapable and fearful environment/lifestyle(?). Fear motivates intense vulnerability.
ONE of the reasons that this site is therapeutic.
I'm thankful for that!

@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member I’ve definitely experienced Seizures where I feel extremely terrified before I go into the seizure and I have no clue why. With the live EEGs I’ve had, I’ve also had that experience and it showed that those were part of the seizure. I don’t see anything either, but sometimes I might feel deja vu before or right before I black out. My heart’s racing, probably because I feel so scared. I had these all before I had my brain surgeries. Luckily, mine have calmed down a lot from my Left Temporal Lobectomy and my NeuroPace Device (RNS). I have the Vegal Nerve Stimulator (VNS) too, but it didn’t seem to help much. I’m really sorry you’re having to deal with these types of seizures.
