Has Anyone Taken Cymbalta With Temporal Lobe Epilepsy And Not Suffer From Depression?
I wanted to know if anyone has been prescribed antidepressants for TPE? I do not suffer from depression but my auras are either out of body and then I may cry or I just cry and I can't control it. I've read many medical journals that are on the fence about this and I am very well aware as to how the FDA passes drugs quickly. I am currently seeking a second opinion. If depression is a symptom that one suffers from then I understand but still it can increase the possibility of seizures… read more
I agree with you 100% in the crying. My crying comes from the temporal lobe and is a seizure for me, or when I have an out of body then I cry after. I'm going to ask if there is a way to test seratonin levels. I'm in a graduate program now and studying SSRI and SSNRI meds for behavioral needs. If the seratonin levels are good then the medication can increase these levels more, which increases seizures and can cause death due to overdose.
I understand depression and my heart goes out to all that suffer from this as I had it years ago. I think that more research needs to be done with antidepressants and seizures to be honest.
Thank you so much for your response.
I have taken ssris a few times (for depression ) and had increased seizures (actually they gave me out of body experiences) and no real improvement in mood. An SSNRI may be different, but I think the serotonin approach is limited imho. I know its embarrassing but there may be even relief & benefits in crying. frankly Im not sure Cymbalta is a great idea.
