Has Anyone Used An Anti Nausea Band

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question πŸ’
Centennial, CO

Due to other health conditions I take multiple medications as well as every five weeks have to have Remicade Infusions. A few of the medications along with the infusions cause nausea. I read somewhere that the bands are wonderful to help with that but may not be good for people with seizure disorders. I just want to see if anyone has ever tried them? I would love to eliminate all the meds to stop the nausea.

Nausea is one of a common side effect with AED'S but everyone reacts differently with medication so I never have nausea but I heard about bands they stimulate the P6 point on the wrists and send signals to the brain and they mostly have very mild side effects like Local skin reactions, mild discomfort and swollen wrists.
But I still advice to confirm with your neuro before using them. Best of luck 🀞

Wish I could help. But I’ve never experienced that.

Margaret, thank you for your reply. I’m glad the vertigo has died down a bit. I hope you find something that helps. Like you nausea isn’t fun, but I must say vertigo is awful. I’ve had a couple of bouts before and that was so not fun. I’m so sorry you have to deal with that. Do you do the vertigo exercises? They help my dad a lot.

Thank you for the hug T-Rex - I really needed it!! However, I realised that in my confused state of mind with the Vertigo etc, I hadn't actually answered your question!!! Sorry about that! I did try the anti nausea bands at one point many years ago but I wasn't reducing my epilepsy meds at the same time - just trying to see if the bands worked in conjunction with the meds! They didn't seem to help in that context, sorry to say.
My vertigo, as of yesterday, seems to have died down a little - let's hope this continues!!!
Hope you find something positive. Constant nausea is awful.

I have very rare episodes of mild nausea mild enough that I can just wait of them to "go away". However, I have just experienced 3 weeks of a real nightmare with Vertigo - not the dizzy head feeling but true overwhelming vertigo where your whole world is spinning even when you close your eyes, you can't escape. It seems to be caused by the changes that the doctors are trying to make to my medication - to try to reduce my seizures! - but it has taken over virtually every waking moment of my life for 3 weeks. I can only believe that it will go away little by little as my body gets used to the new drugs as my seizures have definitely reduced in number and severity since the new med (Cenobamate) was introduced to allow me to reduce my Lamictal (Lamotrigine) which was at the highest possible amount. 🀞🀞
