Does Anyone Know What Kind Of Work I Could Do

O Does anyone know what kind of job I could do, I’m still having seizures almost daily but I’ve been out of work for over a year and my neurologist just cleared me to work! Until I see him next month obviously i need an income 😂

@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member I've never had to rely on public transport so I don't know how I would deal with that. One thing I have been doing is looking for jobs that have no driving requirements (or very little) mainly in admin areas. more specifically IT.

I don’t know how your doctor cleared you to work if you’re having daily seizures. Is your neurologist an epileptologist? Most regular old neurologists don’t actually have a clue about epilepsy. My previous neurologist literally almost killed me. My blood was so toxic that my body was starting to shut down. I wound up in the hospital for over a week. I had already scheduled with a new Dr who’s an epileptologist and was at the hospital she works from so my new neuro team fixed me up. I went from being admitted to the hospital in emergency condition to being cleared to drive two weeks ago for the first time in five years. It’s been a religious experience to drive again. When I rode my motorcycle just around the block… that was one of the most incredible feelings ever. But I wasn’t even cleared to work by my neurologist who messed me up while I was still having seizures, and people forget or don’t notice that the law is reasonable accommodation if possible. Not accommodation regardless of anything. There are almost too many restrictions to work if you’re having daily seizures. I’m not trying to be a buzzkill, I’m speaking from a lifetime of experience. There’s almost nothing you can safely do. You have to consider environmental hazards, triggers, etc. if you’re not well managed yet, your triggers are probably easily set off. Be really careful and thoughtful and deliberate in making any decisions about any of this. Your health is most important.

Good question! No seriously though.... I'm in the same situation I've just been cleared to start work but I'm still having seizures so I'm trying to keep it more home based at the moment.

@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member , are you in a big City or a rural area ? If you’re in a big city then maybe you can find a job in the route of City transportation, like bus, taxi, and trolley or train .

But I also understand your struggles, if you live in an area that is far from a big city. I miss working myself. But I am now in a rural area where there isn’t any city transportations.
