I always give new workers a heads up that if they see me fall or stare away not to worry and that I have seizures. That hasn’t effected our friendship.
I was so worried but was put at ease now the women I world beside everyday knows what and how to do everything if I have a seizure when my team leader was first told she would panic even if I was in the toilet to long and come find me but now she is a bit more at ease everyone deals with it different as there not educated in epilepsy same as us we’re all still learning well I am everyday x
I worked at a BINGO HALL and EVERYONE knew I had seizures and they helped if they could. I'll say I had it EZ though my bosses granddaughter had EPILEPSY so the next day after the seizure she asked what meds I was on. I told her. Never got fired!
I was also worried about telling my employer as I was scared I would lose my job but they were fantastic I work in a factory and they said it’s fine we will inform all first aiders and get them training around epilepsy as this could help in the future for other employees I was shocked at the response and felt very grateful x
All my employers know and what first aid is to be used. Worked in veterinary medicine. Figured it was good training for our clients too.
