Has Anyone Ever Get Randomly Dizzy As A Side Effect One Hour After Taking Lamictal?

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

I have never had a problem in the last 13 years of taking it. Now all of a sudden I get dizzy one hour after taking my dose. Tried to split up doses, taking them different times, but I still get dizzy. The dizzy spell is not as bad taking a lower dose, but is still bad. Starts an hour later every time like clockwork. These “dizzy spells” last a few hours. Starting to impact my quality of life. Any suggestions? Or has anyone experienced this before? I do take a low dose of Briviact as well but I… read more

I’m almost wondering that my seizures are due to the Lamictal????

Your Lamictal color of tablet troubles me not the dose but the color of the pill.
Mine are white 200mg.
I asked the pharmacist one time, and I was told that the different color was a product made by a different company.
I would ask the same question to your pharmacist yourself.

I’ve been on Lamictal 200mg x2/day for over 20 years but still have petite mal type seizures once a month. Since my only other option is surgery, my neurologist and I accepted it as status quo. But he retired, his replacement wants to push my dose as high as tolerable. I was up to 300 x2/day for 8 weeks just fine, then suddenly had dizziness exactly as you describe for no apparent reason. After 3 days of intolerable symptoms, I checked my pills and found some generic lamotrigine in my brand name supply. The 200mg light blue tablets are the exact same shape and size except for the inscription. I don’t know if I unknowingly took generics the days I had terrible dizziness or my blood level was slowly accumulating until it hit a max, but when I tried generic 10 years ago, I got dizzy. Has your Lamictal dosage or type of pill been changed?
