hay y'all, i have a question for the seizure kids out there (people who were diagnosed when thay were a child to teens). where are your trigger when having a seizure (on your brain) at and your brain development?
i'll start. i was a seizure kid... 2nd grade when i was diegnosed. my seizure trigger is in the frountal lobe of my brain... the one that process speech. the bad brain development was understanding writing (nouns, verbs, ect) and the english language.

@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member never heard of 'trigger point'. we (family) used just 'triggers). mind you i was young and mom and dad were a 'blue collar jobs'. didn't get the computer until i was a few years into the seizure thing. i am not saying trigger point is wrong... i am saying is drs like to 'simplefly things'.. expecully when i was a kid.

I was 5 yo, my Mom (an RN) saw me having a seizure as I walked in random circles.
After getting me to a neurologist I was diagnosed w/ epilepsy, having a left temporal lobe focus.

Focus = the origin of the seizure activity within the brain. (Ie. Scar tissue in my left temporal lobe)
@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member , I believe this is what you're calling "trigger point." Please correct me if I'm wrong.

I never had a learning disabilities, but was the advanced track for all thing analytical. (Math, physics, etc.). Strategy intrigues me, so history, both Biblical & world history are favorites.
Chess being a favorite as well.

I had my first seizure at 17, so I got through 1-12 okay, but I do believe my epilepsy affected my college years.

I was diagnosed at 7 when a teacher thought I was deliberately not paying attention in class. I was tested, then stated taking meds. I was taking them at lunch, but kids can be cruel if you are different. I began taking them after I got home from school instead. They took me out of school and got me a Tutor in 6th grade. I was on a high dosage of something, and I was not like myself at all. They do not know I did not understand how to subtract because I did not know how to add. I learned to multiply by listening to records. The Learning Disability has to do with attention and memory, as well as many other aspects of life. It might be because of where the seizures began in my right Temporal Lobe.

As a kid I would have more seizures in school from the stress and while playing sports. Before I had seizures I had a great memory but right after I started having seizures I no longer could remember anything. I was diagnosed at 10 years old in the 4th grade.
