It's so tough because people are rude and assume I'm lazy etc. If just bought a house before this got bad and now may lose it. Kids dad tells them things Like there's a lot of people that have the same diagnosis as your mom and they work. So now I have my kids thinking i'm just being lazy. It's tough. I know this post is on the negative side. But I just can't seem to get that first foot out there.
I'm in the application process. I wish others wouldn't judge so harshly...
That where the Stigma to Epilepsy comes in. Even though Epilepsy had been around before Christ, mainstream people don’t understand the struggles and obstacles we go through, with Epilepsy. When people aren’t well educated about Epilepsy, they don’t understand how hard it is living with this condition. Most people go by the myths on Epilepsy. Which are untrue.
Between the seizures and medications side effects , they will make you feel tired, drowsy, low on energy, and even knock you out into the next day .
It can take you body awhile to getting your body use to all that. May not adapt , depending on how bad your seizures are and how strong the side effects of your meds are on you.
Coping with Epilepsy will also be a challenge. Finding alternative was to get around and doing daily routines. It will be more like living a new challenging lifestyle.
Yes! I can forget what I'm doing 3 times while I'm doing whatever. I forget what words I'm trying tis say
Thank you, @A MyEpilepsyTeam Member. I may take you up on your offer.
Memory issues are also a problem that many people have due to seizures, medications, or maybe a combination of both.
