That for me I have found that when I try to 'control' them they only worsen. That's the last thing I want.

I think you can, but the treatment is a lot different from the treatments they use for Epilepsy. It's normally done with a NeuroPsych assessment then from there they would work on a treatment plan. If it turns out you have both you may do this as a extra treatment on top of the standard treatments that they use for epilepsy.
