I think that it's different per person, I think it's had a effect on me, I am ok with that though considering the condition I have and what those effects come from, I am not complaining about it, but I live out my life with, my seizures are more stable than before I think, my opinion

Yes, seizures can cause brain damage from prolonged seizure activity. A prolonged seizure is the electrical impulse from expanding longer it is in action. I was told if a seizure last 5 minutes get medical help, that is when it gets ready to start or increase brain injury. At least 5 minutes is what I was told for my type of seizures, which is complex partial. May be longer or shorter time before starting damage. Even if it's same type there are different strengths of the seizure. To find out how long is safe before start of damage ask your neurologist, they should be able to tell you the length before needing help is safe.

Yes it can. I've been tested by neuro psych doctor to see effects seizures have had on my brain, as I started stuttering 3 yrs ago when seizures increased to monthly. Learned from testing it has impacted my memory, learning cognitive abilities and language as well. Also, learned it has caused extreme anxiety and depression. So, from neuro psych Dr says it can change or damage different parts of our brain can be affected
