My Son Always Vomits Everything When He Initially Comes Out Of A Grand Mal Seizure And Then Continues To Vomit For Another 30 Min…normal?
thank-you for sharing!
There is a rare type of epilepsy called "abdominal epilepsy. It is more common in children than adults. Gastrointestinal problems like nausea and vomiting may occur along with the seizure in this type of epilepsy.
You must be fearful and helpless when your son has these seizures.
I highly recommend you read a lot more about this. I Googled "Seizures and abdominal epilepsy" and found a number of articles on this form of epilepsy.
My sympathies and good wishes go out to you Julie.
Hang in there and try and stay pos
yes, i looked at some articles - seems like the abdominal pains and problems happen before the grand mal but something to ask our neurologist this week. my son is refusing to take his meds as of last night in a dramatic dumping of the pills in a garbage bin - part of the side effects...amplified emotions at night. he's going to limp along on half a pill until we get to our appointment. sigh.
Hi @A MyEpilepsyTeam Member, it happened to me as a kid. Even if it wasn’t a tonic clonic episode. I would also have a random urge to eat when I came out of my seizure
It disappeared after my first craniotomy. However, I had a really brief moment where I had it as an aura. That is actually the reason why I’m doing testing for my epilepsy again.
