Aura Duration

I was wondering how long auras last for different people on here? Sometimes I get the aura a day or even longer before a seizure and the auras last a while sometimes too.

Lydia, I can have what I think are multiple auras over a couple of hours, or on multiple days, and I too can try to ward one off by trying to calm myself down. But most recently last fall, I wasn’t even able to warn my friend that one was coming, I just dropped into it. So it can depend upon the environment and how you’re metabolizing the seizure meds (with or without food, water, activity, etc). But sometimes they do not go into as full blown seizure.

I usually don't have auras or signs of a seizure but when I do, I take deep breaths and try to focus my brain on one thing. Kind of trying to bring myself back into reality because my feelings are more like I'm falling or losing control. Water on my face or changing my temperature sometimes helps.

I've had auras all my life. Sometimes I would get an aura but no seizure. I had brain surgery in 1990. Sometimes I feel knumbness on the left side of my head. My doctor says that the knumbness is my brain healing. I still get auras and my doctor says that I will still have auras but I won't have any seizures from the auras.

Mine can be a few senconds to a few hours. The ones that come quick and result in a seizure and then the long lasting ones tend to be very tiresome with no seizure at the end. Sometimes even no aura and just straight into a seizure.

I had some weird feelings earlier and I get them fairly often. I just feel odd and anxious and get a funny smell/sensation but it doesn't always turn into a full on seizure. Most of the time my auras don't last very long at all before I have a seizure. They are a warning for me too.
