Can You Grow Out Of Being Epilepsy?

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭
Rohnert Park, CA

10 or more years ago someone told my parents that I probably grew out of epilepsy cause there wasn’t any seizures documented for 7 or more years. I was diagnosed with epilepsy when I was 7 years old and eventually it was diagnosed as nocturnal so I don’t really know when I have them. Unless they are possibly a grand mall seizure

If you have what they call childhood epilepsy and you were diagnosed bellow the age of 10 and your current age is bellow 23 then yes there is a chance you can but once you are out of this range it is unlikely you would be able to outgrow it.
