It’s honestly such a broad spectrum that almost anything could be a trigger for someone. I personally have no triggers so idkkk what or when to avoid something

@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member , the only time of the many times during my cluster seizures, my wife would use the magnet on me. It wasn’t ever from anxiety nor Depression. I would feel the blues now and then but it wouldn’t last long. The only form of anxiety I have is getting over excited ( having a lot of fun ) during big event ( large Family get togethers , Concerts , busy malls, stadium sport events , and big convention events .

Over all the VNS never worked on reducing my seizures. Today I’m on the DBS and it is work very well. I still have seizures , but nowhere as much as I did before.

I once had a vagus nerve stimulator. It turned on every 4 or 5 minutes on its own and vibrated. That was supposed to help stop a seizure before it started. When I had a seizure my mom would touch the vagus nerve stimulator with a magnet and that was supposed to wake me back up from the seizure

I should add that "Caffeine" in general isn't a trigger however if it was in excessive use this is where it does become dangerous and can become a trigger.

The basic triggers to everyone……
1. Alcohol
2. Caffeine
3. Stress of all types
4. Anxiety
5. depression / Suicidal thoughts

Things that don’t trigger every one……..
1. Over excitement, from big events
2. Change in weather
3. Change in climate and environment
4. Sensitive frequencies of light ( photosensitivity ) . Like Solar, strobe light and blue light.
5. Sensitive to loud sounds

Theses are a few of the many things that can Trigger our seizures.
