What Do Auras Feel Like?
docs ask if i have them but i have no idea. most all my seizures happen when i am sleeping. the seizure i had on Sunday was during the day, but i got super tired and snuggled up on the couch. the ask about triggers but idk. i go to sleep.
My auras don’t happen before every seizure but when they do I get hot immediately, dizziness, and my vision starts to fade to black. I can usually drink cold water or soda, and lay down for about an hour and then I’m fine again. To learn your triggers think about what you were doing before your seizure, think about if you’ve done anything differently in your normal routine and you’ll usually discover a commonality that occurs when you have your seizures. So far I’ve learned that hot summer days, bright lights, OTC medications, lack of sleep are all triggers for me. Take care and wishing you seizure free days ☺️
Wide range of things. I want to simplify it... for me it's like standing up to fast and becoming dizzy, functions slows down and I know I need to lay down. Some people only feel auras once there medication starts to lower your seizure threshold. When your threshold to seizure is higher there becomes a sense that " the glass of milk your pouring is going to over flow, unless you do something, like stop pouring. That sense is knowing if you don't do something immediately then a problem will happen. ( overflow and spill or go over your threshold and seizure.) You learn this similarly to how a kid learns to pour their own glass. At first they have no sense the glass is going to overflow. Then they start to sense and eventually prepare for it.
Having an aura is really a special kind of feeling...
My auras are a weird feeling in my throat/neck. They used to mess up my speech. Doctors do find seizure activity on my RNS when I have an aura.
I have no idea.
