What Precautions Do You Take In A Heat Wave With High Humidity?

I drink plenty of water. Any grocery shopping or cooking is done in the coolest part of the day. Dog walks are less than 5 minutes. Do I exercise? No!

I used to live in a High humid climate over in the DFW area. I would always carry a couple of bottles of water with a mix of Himalayan salt, and some lemon juice. Natural electrolytes from the Himalayan salt and the lemon juice in the water helped keep me hydrated. No extra sugars from Gatorade or energy drinks. They actually deplete your system. I don’t care what spokesperson told you to drink sugar for hydration but it actually depletes your body of what it needs. This is coming from my medical experience over the years. So it’s your choice of what you wanna carry. Water by itself is good but adding a pinch of Himalayan salt and half a lemon to your water or lime, will help the water get into your cells and hydrate you faster. I can only make a suggestion. I can’t tell you what to do. Have a safe and seizure free day.

PS: If possible stay out of the heat. . Go for walks in the cool part of the day. But if you’re having to work out in the heat, be sure to prep for it.
