If You Have Had A Seizure In Public - How Did You Feel
Were you confident and didn't care what people thought or did you feel odd or out of place?
Explain your emotions
I had an absence seizure last October and it wasn't a big deal. Was paying for a pair of shoes to wear to work and just as I was coming out of it my husband had walked in so he saw what was going on. As I said it was not a big deal, my husband knew what was going on and the cashier had a family member that has seizures. I sat up for about 10 to 15 minutes so I could get myself back together, my husband finished paying for the items that were unpaid for since I was unable to, then we thanked the cashier for her assistance in caring for me as she did the right thing with helping me. It all was good at the end of the day.
I felt embarrassed most of my life, getting older I was more positive. I had a husband who knew and children who were always there to help me. Fight for your rights, people need to understand what this condition is.

It doesn’t bother me if I have a seizure in public. Others show concern and take care of things. When I’m back aware I’ll never even know I had a seizure.
@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member, yes they did.

Did they know you had seizures? I tell people if they think I’m pretending to pinch me their hardest. When I don’t react I’m obviously having a seizure.
