When Diagnosed With Your Condition, Do You Think The Doctor Prescribed Your Medication Right ?

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

I'm curious about that because of I looked up online about how many meds are out there, and it was ok with the meds they chose to put me on, Dilantin and phenobarbital and was ok with my condition and such etc, what do you think?

Everyone brain is an experiment. It’s got its own attitude. It also changes with time. I’ve tried quite a bit of different meds and IViG tmt. It just depends on how the patient responds to the medication. Just keep a journal and report to the doctor if anything goes wrong 😑.

@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member,

Let’s see if I can answer this question without getting upset. When I was first diagnosed with my condition, the first neurologist, I had put me on Keppra.
To make an extreme long story short, The answer would be…..

No

One of the Worst experiences of my life. Not counting when I was in first or second grade and a seesaw fell on my foot. And also when I hit my head at school Which caused me to have seven stitches across my right eyebrow above my right eye.

As far as taking the Dilantin that you take, I’m allergic and nearly died. That would be one of the most worst experiences I had. The childhood trauma I had. Was nothing compared to those two.

My first combo was Lamotrigine and Clobazam (Frisium). Then IVIG and Steroids were added, then discontinued due to fluid overload. New doc said no more Clobazam and started XCopri. Lamotragine still hanging in.
