I Have Been Having A Lot Of Trouble Finding Treatment For My Mental Health Due To My Epilepsy. Any Suggestions?
The multiple psych. Doctors that I have seen claim that they Are unable to treat me due to the severity of my epilepsy. Anyone else have this problem and if so what can I do about it? And what is more important my mental health or the epilepsy? And why do I feel like I have to choose? 🤷🏻‍♀️
Have you try getting together with other people with Epilepsy and get a group meeting going ? Maybe even check with the Epilepsy Foundation and see iwhat the have for support groups.
Dave7. Prayer and meditation has helped a lot and use it multiple times a day and do encourage others to try it
It's dif per person, I am ok with the medical field and such etc, I don't know what religion you are, but I am a Catholic christian mix and did add and do my daily routine of prayer and bible study I believe in and do, but I think that is the best medicine for me and it does help me and my condition out, I am not perfect and do sin, but that is my suggestion for you, my opinion, it works!!
I have had a hard time as well. It depends more on your insurance than the want to help. I contacted my insurance company and asked them to help and with some persistence they have. This is a battle you have to fight and advocate for yourself unfortunately. I wish I could help you more
@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member , I don’t deal with a lot of depression but participated one time in a program that they offered by phone that lasted a few weeks called “Project Uplift”. Here is a link that might let you sign up for one of their classes: www.managingepilepsywell.org . If they don’t have a class for you to sign up for then maybe they can see if you can find one to sign up for. Your local Epilepsy Foundation I believe is “Epilepsy Foundation New England” & their website is www.epilepsynewengland.org & on their website you’ll find their contact information & see what support groups they offer & what programs & resources they offer. You could even ask your local Epilepsy Foundation about the Project Uplift. Hope this helps some. Your friend in Texas, Becky
