Do You Get Tired Of Acquaintances Saying, “You’re Not Limping. Or In A Wheelchair! Or Deaf Or Blind. Why Are You Complaining?”

YES. I get tired of such baseless comparisons. My brain is not my friend. I can’t count on it. I feel like there are two of me: me, and the epileptic me. And every thought, every action is after a silent or occasionally raucous negotiation between the two. Irritating! However. I refuse to let the process set me up for a bad hair day.

It did bother me very much when I was younger. I now could care less how others may feel anything about me in any way bother me.🦸🏿‍♂️

I understand how you feel completely drained of energy, it’s more then just being tired, it’s being tired in a way no one will ever know

I hate to hear that anyone would say that to another person. Personally, I have not had anyone ever say that to me. I am sure it will happen sometime. I just hope that person is ready for an earful.

Tomas, you’re spot on. As terrible as seizures are (and your explanation of the light socket xs10 is excellent) not as harmful as ignorant ppl. The bullying, alienation, discrimination, stigma and so much more was more harmful to me than the seizures were (and I averaged 12 Grand Mals a day). I always say instead of being the victim, it’s far more empowering to educate them about epilepsy, seizures, stigma, and ignorance. You making them think is an example of that.
