Can You Have 2 Different Kinds Of Epilepsy?
My recent stay in an EMU says my seizures come from the right temporal lobe but, it says there's a possibility of extratemporal epilepsy. I always thought I just had right temporal lobe epilepsy but the fact it shown there was a possibility of that does that mean I could have 2 types of epilepsy?
Yes there are many. Ask your neurologist.
When I got ready to do my brain surgeries, the neurologists tested to see if my seizures were coming from one side of my brain or both. They told me if they were coming from both sides they wouldn't do any surgery!
Happy Birthday!
Was discovered during the mapping for deep brain stimulator surgery, seizure current spikes in left temporal lobe first then bounces to right temporal lobe then spike goes back to the left.
I had more tests recently because I thought the technology had changed. After having the same tests, they found some in the Left Occipital Lobe. That is where my vision is. They said more could not be done. However, I was told preventing seizures on the right side stopped "Echo Seizures" happening on the left. That would have done a lot of damage. I did not want to wonder "What would have happened?" later in life if I did not do so. I remain on medications, but the Doctors found a combination that works. I have them when attention is not paid to my Triggers.
