I have the opposite side so I was diagnosed with left temporal lobe epilepsy with focal to bilateral tonic clonic seizures(starts in my left temporal lobe as a focal seizure that spread to the rest of my brain causing a tonic clonic) Since it starts on my left side it affects ability to understand language, learn, memorize, form speech and remember verbal information

Your right temporal lobe affects the ability to recognize information, determine facial expressions, and learn and memorize nonverbal information. If your right temporal lobe is the part affected you may experience some problems with these processes.

I had a left temporal lobe removed in 1995. The issue discovered, I have spikes of current on the left but those spikes will go onto the right then go back to the left. When having the Deep Brain Stimulator device surgery, the mapping was setup to cover specific areas of both left and right so all current was covered.

Hi Stephanie Cannon, I also have my right temporal lobe the area damaged that causes seizures. The seizures that surge from there can be many types of seizures. The type I have are focal seizures called complex partial. The form of seizure you have may cause different actions you do before, during, and after the seizures, depending on what type of seizures you have. The right temporal lobe controls multiple actions. Three of them are emotions, actions, and memory. There are other actions it controls. Since it is our right temporal lobe that is damaged it may or may not interfere with the actions at the right temporal lobe controls. It depends on how bad the damage is before you'll know how it will affect you. Your doctor should be able to tell you what type of seizures you have and how much of the right temporal lobe is damaged by doing an MRI and EEG testing. Which they could also tell you if you're eligible for surgery and if it would be beneficial for you to get. Wish you the best take care!
