I Have Memory Issues & I’m Sensitive. But When I Remember Something, It’s Clear. Yet I’m Told I Remembered Wrong. How Do Deal With That?

When I’m told “you don’t remember”, It just reminds me of my deficits and makes me feel belittled, denigrated, and Angry as Hell. They sure don’t understand that.

Let it go in one ear out the other. The most important thing is trying to remember. Hard at first but never give. The one thing no one has control over is the mind. Always try to do puzzles or any memory games. Keep your mind busy or active. Sorry, just trying to help.

JolF No point arguing with idiots at all. Best way to avoid getting angry trying to defend self from nonsense is just dismiss it.

I like to communicate with others. There are times when I ask questions about previous situations to clarify something. There have been times when I would ask a family member about certain time periods as they are half fuzzy and I would like to remember all of the situation itself.

Should I be unsure about an issue in the office, I will ask just for clarity before mentioning in a meeting or a presentation.

It's dif per person, I have that happen to me a few times with my condition also and over the years, but I don't let people know if they bring up something to me and ask do you remember that, I am straight up about it, if I don't remember I am not going to try and explain why I don't remember, some people have a good memory and that is good, but I myself after being diagnosed with my condition of epilepsy at 7, I would say that after the seizures and the test and meds and such etc, I give myself a 1 on the 3 scale being the best, which in my opinion is not bad considering what I and my memory has gone through, I am ok with that in my life with my current condition I have, my condition is more stable than before and I am not complaining about. My opinion here, hang in there and try and stay pos, I do, so can you.

I hate that, what I do is try tl remember it and if I still can't, I'll say I don't remember or thought it has another way. I'll explain my memory is very poor and why. From there if they have anything mean or rude to say I'll dismiss it. Others don't fully understand the condition and the effects. Anyways no one has a perfect memory way,I look at it
