How To Do A Weekend Getaway If You Can't Drive That Wouldn't Be Expensive?

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question πŸ’

I'm currently unable to drive, and I live by myself. Most of my friends who do like to go out schedules don't line up with mine because they have kids or other obligations. I haven't had a weekend getaway by myself to the mountains which is where I typically would like to go back when I used to drive. I've done Church retreats, which is awesome, but I like the time just to relax and chill just to get away for myself.

I live about maybe 3 hours away from my little getaway spot where I used to… read more

When you set it up with the epilepsy foundation they will ask you if you need transportation. If you tell them you do they set it up at no charge a way for you to get to where they are meeting up. Then also a way for you to get home free of charge. The weekend get together the epilepsy foundation have do have a limit of people that can go on each get together. I was told by someone that works for the epilepsy foundation setting these events that spots fill up pretty quick. So if you find out they are having one take a spot. I'm not sure all epilepsy foundations work on the same schedule, doubt they do, are having one Sept 20-Sept.22nd. I signed up to go on in June. This is my 1st time going on one, I received a call from them yesterday asking me a few questions. Such as If I still wanted to go, if I needed transport, if I had a rescue med. to be used if I had a seizure, for room I'd be sleeping in did it matter to me if I slept in room with people of other sexes or did I want it to be same sex, and a few other I believe. They don't have these often may be about twice a year, do to cost and everything for the event is free. So if interested I recommend to call them up to see if they have one coming up or know when the next one will be. They also have, other things then group meetings and the weekend get away, of social get together with other epileptics. They are very helpful in many ways! TAKE CARE πŸ‘!

It's dif per person, but would suggest seeing if you can find a way to get to where you want to go, a find out about from people here and their opinions and such etc, you can also think of maybe another destination and try out , just a thought, I hope you can find out a solution to the situation at hand and get to your destination you have set up, hang in there and try and stay pos, good luck
