A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

Hello friends
My sister was seizure-free for 5 months and few days ago she had 3 seizures in one day and last one was a strong one. Today she went to her neurologist and he said that electrical activity in her brain has increased so he adjusted her medication dosage.
If you went through a similar experience i need your advice concerning how can we help reduce the electrical activity in her brain, and thank you in advance.

Nada Same thing, our thoughts are from also, how or why unknown. We know human brains have a unique type of connection tween halves allowing speech, senses, but seizures just interfere. Why some brains of geniuses also had seizures may be from too much activity, or if any probs may just shory circuits. As may be for Sis's type or reason. A friend with MS had some too for example.

The aim is for the meds to do this. There are other ways of doing it but when you talk about reducing electrical activity directly this is what the meds are designed to do.

There are a lot of different causes. For me, it was getting stressed, overheated or a lack of sleep.

And Margery You are absolutely right, but what I was asking about here is what are the probable reasons that cause the sudden increase of the electrical activity in the brain, especially that she had her seizures controlled for 5 months. So If there is something causing this so we can check about it
