You would have to do some research but you can always try the natural alternatives. I prefer Holy Basil and CalmAid. There is also John’s Wort or Ashawagandha. The latter does involve the hormones so that change couch could be a trigger for your Epilepsy. Good Luck! 👍😃

I have an app called drugs.com and you can check to see what medications can affect your current ones. I’ve been on antidepressants longer than my epilepsy meds but it’s important to check because some can cause your epilepsy meds to become less effective. This is obviously app is obviously not a doctor 😂 but You should check with your psychiatrist what med they want you to try and then talk to your neurologist to see if it is safe.

Instead of talking to your psychiatrist, speak with your neurologist if the antidepressant is safe to take with your seizure medications.

If it’s a psychiatrist who you haven’t been seeing very long then I would recommend you find another psychiatrist. A lot of times your doctors can work together to see what they feel would work best. Never be afraid to change doctors. I have had so much success since I changed doctors last year. Simply make sure that you let all the doctors know what you’re taking and what for, be sure all doctors know what you are currently diagnosed with even if it’s not something that they would treat. It’s important that all doctors know everything, and possibly even one another
