I’ve had Focal Onset Impaired Awareness seizures for over 30 years. There have been times when I get a weird taste and can’t pronounce words clearly. Those are called auras.

It's a frustrating process. You lose it all then get your sight and hearing back but it takes a lot longer to be able to talk.

Seizures interrupt the conscious mind, so lose the ability to speak, and move, senses are screwed up too. If aware all during can be spooky; intense emotion from. If we didn't know bout epilepsy we'd be terrified like years ago. Try to relax during know it will pass then we're fine. Once mind knows what to expect no worry bout future ones. Try to focus on your type to help cope best- consult Dr bout fears, how meds affect you. Best side of all is seizure control .

If minor my Absence or now called Partial Awareness Seizures, my face changes, as well as my eyes. I just stare. I stop talking about what was being discussed. When I wake up, I talk as if nothing happened. The severe ones cause me to become confused, not know where I am, and possibly loose my balance. I have a Rollator which if I used it would allow me to sit. It is also very sturdy so I can hold on to walk safely. My Triggers are lack of sleep, and quality of it, not eating or not eating well. Stress and being overheated are others. Watching my Triggers to avoid them is very helpful.
