Do You Guys Have Any Good Ideas For A Job

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

I want to get a job.I just don't know where to start.Cause I'm a introvert and I'm not very good with talking to people and I'm also afraid to work at a fast food place because of my seizures. So I was thinking maybe like an overnight shift for a store like stocking the shelves or maybe a cashier. I'm not really good at math, but I'm trying to figure something out. Because I believe I needed to be more active and get out the house. So I guess I'm asking for advice

Do what you feel comfortable with. I did Stocker at a Dollar Tree for about 6 months before going to a mortgage company. Worked with that company for about 2.5 years before I left to go back to my driving gig. After 7 months I had to come back off the road again cause I had a breakthrough. During my R&R, I got contacted by a lawn company and they offered me a position to only work with small equipment's such as string trimmer, backpack blowers, and edgers. After a few months, they transitioned me to a mower that had a safety cut off in the hand controls so if I lost control, it would automatically shut down as soon as I let go of the controllers. I've gone 7 months seizure free and I'm now on a full zero turn mower helping the other guys. It love it and it's absolutely has little to no stress compared to the other places I've worked. So my advice, determine what is your favorite hobby, and find a job in that field. It takes some trial and error to find what you will and what you will not like.

Start by looking for a job that is not stressful.

I probably wouldn't stress that much if your not that good with math if you want to go for cashier jobs. For that you only need to scan the product, and the register does the rest. Math helps but you don't need it as much these days to be a cashier.

I have been thinking the same as far as getting stressed about a job. One area that could be an option would be a remote type of job. Answering phones or customer service type…depending on your experience. It’s just hard because if your anything like me it’s difficult after a seizure to do or care about anything

Try Walmart, many are open 24/7. You could check with grocery stores that offer free pickup. You would do the shopping and then idk how they put it all together. I know both Walmart and Target do that and many various other stores also do it. Best of luck and don’t stress yourself 👍❤️🙏
