Yes, the epilepsy is the main plan. The side effects are not usually weighed the plan is to stop the seizures. The seizures are the target. My dentist was floored the problem I was having with mine, till I told him I am now off many of the medicines. He said they were the problems. I am now 10 years seizure-free with surgery.

I had problems with swollen gums withDilantin when I was younger. It meant extra attention to my oral care or loosing my teeth. I did something right. ericthom3

Hey, Sorry to hear that I had the same problem back in the day when I was taking Mysoline. In my teens. It swelled up my gums I just had to be extra vigilant and brush nore and gently. ericthom3 Take care Eddie

@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member My dentist did not have a problem with my epilepsy. I would do a deep dive on google to see what is being said. You might want to check with another dentist or even call an orthodontist and see what they have to say.
