Began to take Xcopri in November 2022 as one of the AEDs stopped working. We were running out of options and didn't know what to do. My epileptologist saw this medication as an option to start next. Thankfully the current low dose medication combination with the Xcopri actually worked together well, everything began to show very good signs for managing the seizures better than the last medication so we knew it was a positive to benefit to have started Xcopri. It was a shock at first how the Xcopri would put me to sleep so quick but I quickly understood why the specialist said to always have medication refills with Xcopri in the evening dose. I don't mind sleeping earlier, I can actually get my 7 to 7-1/2 hours of sleep taking this medication which is great.

Xcopri (cenobamate) is a newer anti-seizure medication that was approved by the FDA in 2020 for treating partial-onset seizures in adults. Based on posts from MyEpilepsyTeam members, some people have found Xcopri effective at reducing seizure frequency. However, like all anti-seizure medications, it can cause side effects. Common side effects of Xcopri may include sleepiness, dizziness, fatigue, headache, nausea, and vision problems. More serious risks include allergic reactions, low blood cell counts, and thoughts of suicide. Xcopri also interacts with many other medications. As with any new medication, it's important to closely monitor how you respond and discuss any concerns with your doctor.

I have been on xcopri 400mg 1x daily for 8 months after titrating up to it . The only side effects I have personally experienced is Loss of appetite and Some fatigue from it and random times of tiredness . now I have it used in conjunction with Ativan and Valium each twice daily after literally trying every other medication that hasn't worked for me and has caused reactions . It is by far the most effective medication I have been on, In the aspect of I used to have multiple seizures a day now I have a handful a week. It's really wise to consult your Doc to see what combination of meds work for you. Hope this helps .

I agree with you and your post and the other people's posts here, get your advice from your doc about this and a pharmacist and the medical field etc, and go from there, but hang in there and try and stay pos, my opinion
