It depends on the frequency and severity of ur seizures. U’ll have to talk to ur dr about it as it varies from place to place and u’ll need them to fill out some paperwork and possibly even put ur name on the list or to recommend u to receive one. Just remember that while they’re a tremendous help, they aren’t a fix all to ur condition and they require a lot of continued training, walks, feeding etc. There’s times when the last thing u want to do is to get up and let them out and if u don’t u can’t get angry about any messes they might have or make. And they are trained to stay by ur side so u have to let them sleep on the bed with u. I had a night seizure last night and along with being stiff and sore and a chewed up mouth and a few bumps and bruises, I also had his weight on me all night. I train mine to pin me down so I don’t hurt myself even more and by nature they also will clean up ur face and drool, and I don’t allow face kisses from mine; but they will always clean me up b4 I come back to awareness . So if u don’t consider all the extra work and expense that comes with owning a dog it might make ur life a little harder. But I wouldn’t do without mine. He’s a really great guy and I couldn’t be without him. The only time he stays home without him is when I know that I’ll be around ppl who I trust and know

Status epilepticus is far more than just a seizure. It's a series of seizures when all control is lost so SUED mentioned. No one has this unless no meds and needs a hospital visit to stop it no help from a dog for this.

My dog wasn’t trained for epilepsy but she knew when I was going to have a seizure. She was so protective. She been gone a year now and it sucks!!
