I have mentioned this about insomnia before, but this the first time being awake for this amount of time? I know that I do take naps and got some sleep in, but what are your thoughts about this and has it happened to you and what did you do to make it better? Curious? I also have read a person as the age of 60 starts to develope this, not everyone, but then what about the condition we have and meds and the other factors for this that has become this way the first time? I'll eventually get sleep… read more

At times I have had insomnia, thankfully not often. Normally after walking a few times a day helps. If have difficulty falling a sleep, thankfully there is a tea I drink at night that helps, sure I spoke of once.

I get in bed at the same time every night and set my alarm to wake up every day. It doesn’t always work but I have read that going to bed at the same time and waking up at the same time everyday is better. I have nights that I can’t sleep either . I just can’t sleep sometimes. It’s usually when I have something on my mind and I realize it a few days later. Plus the holidays throw everything off. Also I listen to music, waves crashing, birds singing anything that will take my mind off not sleeping. I hope you are able to get some sleep tonight. And stay away from the phone at night.

there are occasions when I can't sleeps. most times I do like Randy and stay up until I do get sleepy. I wouldn't suggest this to anyone else, I have taken a dose (cap full) of Nyquil at times. I found it does help me go to sleep. I wouldn't depend on Nyquil all the time, it can be addictive.

If I can’t sleep , when I try going to bed after being up for a long period of time . I would get up and wait for my body to get exhausted. Even if it meant for being awake ( from insomnia ) for 24+ hours.

Many times I would have a good long sleep ( over 8hrs ) and feel much more fresher when waking up.

I have difficulty sleeping well also. There are many things you can do. There are breathing and stretching exercises, and others. Do not eat a heavy meal late, and avoid e mails/computers and your Cell Phone. You should try to go to bed each night at about the same time. If you can, except for drinking water to take your
meds, try not to drink water after 6. Getting up to go to the bathroom can be a problem. i listen to an App on my phone called Calm. It requires a subscription. I find listening to the sound of heavy rain is relaxing. I also take 5 mgs. Melatonin before bed..
