Does Aspartame Cause Seizures?

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

So I've always heard aspartame causes seizures. I think I've actually had it cause some for me I realized after I drink a lot of diet pop I tend to have one several hours later. Does anyone else get affected by aspartame?

what i researched (a long time ago), aspartame is a mimic sugar. aspartame will excite your brain to death. sometimes you will not notice it intil decades later or it will effect you in a matter of minutes. if i drink diet or dark pop, i seize in a matter of hours. dad still drinks diet pop (when i was born til now) and he just now (5-10 years) seen the effects. as for any dark pop (excluding root beer)... had a boadload of caffeine. the caffeine and sugars is a thethel combo for me (seizures).
